Obama’s campaign blueprint 2008, and my responses (old Townhall blog parts 9-12)

The ninth installment of The Swamp’s expose on Barack Obama’s campaign centerpiece, “The Blueprint For Change,” has our rebuttal to his policy plan for rural America, which as a city boy he doesn’t really care about anyway.  Our initial observation is that his rural policies are probably full of a rural product….BOVINE EXCREMENT!

“We are at that critical and urgent moment. If Washington continues policies that work against America’s family farmers, our rural communities will fall further behind – and so will America. But if we reject the politics that has shut ordinary folks out, we can create a new story for rural America. … The dreams of rural Americans are familiar to all Americans – to make a good living, to raise a healthy and secure family, and to leave our children a future of opportunity. It’s time for real leadership for rural America to extend that American dream. That’s the dream of opportunity that I’ve spent my life fighting for. And that’s what our rural agenda will do.”

– Barack Obama, Speech in Fairfax, IA,

October 16, 2007

That dream usually involves getting it done WITHOUT gummint assistance.  Self-reliance and a sense of accomplishment is what drives American greatness.

Family Farms

Obama will ensure our farm programs help family farmers, not giant corporations. He will fight to enable family farmers to have fair access to markets, control over their production decisions, and fair prices for their goods.

They will have all of that if the gummint does the Constitutional thing and stays the heck out of the way.

Alternative Fuels

Obama will help farmers continue their leadership in the renewable fuel economy and harvest more of our energy from Americans farms.
Great idea!  Let’s drive up food prices and lower the food supply, thereby dropping our food exports to parts of the world that depend on them, by using our food for fuels.  The starving folks in Ethiopia will really appreciate that!

Investing in Rural Communities

Obama will invest in rural small businesses and fight to expand high-speed internet access. He will improve rural schools and attract more doctors to rural areas.
Who’s money is he going to use for these “investments”?  Expanding internet access is the job of the internet access companies, not the federal government.  How in the world does he plan to improve rural schools and attract doctors when the Constitution doesn’t give him any authority to act in those areas?

Protecting the Rural Environment

Barack Obama will work for tougher regulations on concentrated animal feeding operations (CAFOs) to prevent air and water pollution.
What part of the Constitution has anything to say about the care and feeding of animals?

Family Farmers are Being Squeezed

Farm consolidation has made it harder for mid-size family farmers to get fair prices for their products and compete on the open market.

CAFOs Pollute the Environment

Between 1992 and 2004, there were more than 450 manure spills from CAFOs in Iowa, killing millions of fish and jeopardizing public health.

Sounds like a State of Iowa issue to us.

Rural Communities are Often Left Behind

Rural communities often struggle to attract capital because of lack of infrastructure and remote distances. There is less access to quality doctors, and schools have trouble recruiting teachers.

And that is an issue for the federal government because….?????

Ensure Economic Opportunity For Family Farmers

Strong Safety Net for Family Farmers: Obama will fight for farm programs that provide family farmers with stability and predictability. Obama will implement a $250,000 payment limitation so that we help family farmers – not large corporate agribusiness. Obama will close the loopholes that allow mega farms to get around the limits by subdividing their operations into multiple paper corporations.
How about doing the Constitutional thing and ENDING farm subsidies?

Prevent Anticompetitive Behavior Against Family Farms:
Obama is a strong supporter of a packer ban. When meatpackers own livestock they can manipulate prices and discriminate against independent farmers. Obama will strengthen anti-monopoly laws and strengthen producer protections to ensure independent farmers have fair access to markets, control over their production decisions, and fair prices for their goods.
You mean the Constitution says that the government can regulate who can own livestock?

Regulate CAFOs:
Obama’s Environmental Protection Agency will strictly regulate pollution from large CAFOs, with fines for those that violate tough standards. Obama also supports meaningful local control.
If he supports local control, then let the LOCAL authorities handle the situation!

Establish Country of Origin Labeling:
Obama supports immediate implementation of the Country of Origin Labeling law so that Americans can distinguish American products from imported ones.
What products DON’T have the country of origin on their labels?  What does this have to do with rural policies, anyway?

Encourage Organic and Local Agriculture:
Obama will help organic farmers afford to certify their crops and reform crop insurance to not penalize organic farmers. He also will promote regional food systems.
How?  With who’s money?  WHERE’S THE BEEF?

Encourage Young People to Become Farmers:
Obama will establish a new program to identify and train the next generation of farmers. He will also provide tax incentives to make it easier for new farmers to afford their first farm.
We’re sure this is in the Constitution somewhere, right?  What?  It’s not?

Partner with Landowners to Conserve Private Lands:
Obama will increase incentives for farmers and private landowners to conduct sustainable agriculture and protect wetlands, grasslands, and forests.
This really is a broken record…..where in the Constitution……?

Support Rural Economic Development

Support Small Business Development: Obama will provide capital for famers to create value-added enterprises, like cooperative marketing initiatives and farmer-owned processing plants. He also will establish a small business and micro-enterprise initiative for rural America.

a) What’s a “famer”?
b) What money is he going to use for this capital?
c) Why does the gummint need to do what the private sector is supposed to do?

Connect Rural America:
Barack Obama will ensure that rural Americans have access to a modern communications infrastructure. He will modernize an FCC program that supports rural phone service so that it promotes affordable broadband coverage across rural America as well.
That’s the business of communications companies, not the government.  The Constitution doesn’t guarantee the citizens will have the most modern communications and computing equipment, nor does it give the federal government any role in providing such stuff to the populace.

Promote Leadership in Renewable Energy:
Obama will ensure that our rural areas continue their leadership in the renewable fuels movement. This will transform the economy, especially in rural America, which is poised to produce and refine more American biofuels and provide more wind power than ever before, and create millions of new jobs across the country.
As stated above, most biofuels reduce the food supply and drive up food prices.  As for wind power, the last wind farm that got disapproved (publicly) was shot down by your mentor, Teddythedrunk (D-Chappaquiddick).

Improve Rural Quality Of Life

Combat Methamphetamine: Methamphetamine use has increased 156 percent nationwide since 1996. Obama has a long record of fighting the meth epidemic. As President, he will continue the fight to rid our communities of meth and offer support to help addicts heal.

Fighting illegal drugs is okay, but it is not the federal government’s responsibility to provide rehab to addicts.

Improve Health Care:
Rural health care providers often get less money from Medicare and Medicaid for the very same procedure performed in urban areas. Obama will work to ensure a more equitable Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement structure. He will attract providers to rural America by creating a loan forgiveness program for doctors and nurses who work in underserved rural areas. He supports increasing rural access to care by promoting health information technologies like telemedicine.
Why is there a Medicare and Medicaid anyway?  They are not Constitutional programs.  Neither is your loan forgiveness entitlement program.

Improve Rural Education:
Obama will provide incentives for talented individuals to enter the teaching profession, including increased pay for teachers who work in rural areas. Obama will create a Rural Revitalization Program to attract and retain young people to rural America. Obama will increase research and educational funding for Land Grant colleges.
Once again…where is this proposed money coming from?  Public education is not mentioned in the Constitution as something the federal government is allowed to spend taxpayer money on!  As for keeping young people in rural America…ending your support of unions would help!

Upgrade Rural Infrastructure:
Obama will invest in the core infrastructure, roads, bridges, locks, dams, water systems and essential air service that rural communities need.
The only roads and bridges the feds can spend money on are those designated as “US Highway” or “Interstate”.  As for air service, are you proposing to form new aviation companies?  The only thing the government has to do with air service is regulation (air traffic control, safety, and regulations involving interstate commerce).

A Record on Rural Issues

In 2006, Obama supported legislation that would have reversed $2 billion in cuts for U.S. Department of Agriculture programs including conservation, rural development, nutrition, and forestry programs that are vitally important to our rural communities. In addition, he supported legislation providing full funding for agricultural programs that were authorized by Congress in the 2002 Farm Bill. Obama has supported funding for Illinois communities through the Rural Community Empowerment Program, which includes the establishment of rural Empowerment Zones and Enterprise Communities, as well as other federal programs that maintain and build upon the assets of rural communities. Obama has worked on numerousefforts in the U.S. Senate to increase access to and use of renewable fuels, including corn-based and cellulosic ethanol. He cosponsored legislation to investigate the root causes of health disparities including for rural areas and to start addressing them. He cosponsored legislation that became law to combat the scourge of methamphetamines. Obama also introduced legislation to remedy years of discrimination against black farmers by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Okay, we’ll take this apart piece-by-piece.  The $2B cuts sound like they are cuts in unConstitutional spending anyway, so The Swamp supports them.  What does the federal government have to do with rural development and nutrition?  The answer is…NOTHING!    Please show us the contents of that 2002 Farm Bill.  We will gladly highlight all of the unConstitutional parts of it.  We’re pretty sure the whole document will be neon-yellow when we’re done.  Ditto for the “empowerment” and “enterprise” stuff.  Increasing access to and use of different fuels is also something that isn’t the job of the federal government, ESPECIALLY when it is using food for fuel, thereby driving up the prices of corn and grains actually used for FOOD!  Then there’s the “fact” that racism is rampant in America.  His “remedy” is probably more “restitution” bovine excrement.  He really needs to let the racism card go away, since his “pastor”, the replacement “pastor”, their friend who is a Catholic priest, and his wife are all wrapped up in their own racism…..

Looks like we were correct in our initial observation!

The Swamp’s continuing series on Barack Obama’s main campaign and policy document, “The Blueprint For Change,” continues with part 10.  The subject for today is his policies for women.  Here we go again with more splitting America into different groups instead of being the uniter that he keeps claiming to be.  Will this be another subject where the comment to danged near every paragraph is, “Where in the Constitution do you get THAT power?”  We’ll see……

“We also need to change a system that is stacked against women. Forty percent of working women do not have a single paid sick day. More and more women are denied jobs orpromotions because they’ve got kids at home.  As the son of a single mother, that is not the America that I believe in. I’ll be a president who stands up for working parents. We’ll require employers to provide seven paid sick days each year. We’ll enforce laws that prohibit caregiver discrimination. And we’ll encourage flexible work schedules to better balance work and parenting for mothers and fathers. That’s the change that working families need.”

–Barack Obama, Speech in Bettendorf, Iowa,

November 7, 2007

As expected, yes, this appears to be another series of anti-Constitutional proclamations from the Obamessiah.  There’s nothing in the Constitution that gives the federal government the power to “require employers to provide seven paid sick days each year.”  Nor is there anything there that prevents employers from discriminating however they wish.  Of course, we at The Swamp don’t adhere to the Socialist Constitution, which is the one he operates from.  We believe in The Constitution of the United States, ©1787.

Pay Equity

Barack Obama will better enforce the Equal Pay Act, fight job discrimination, and improve child care options and family medical leave to give women equal footing in the workplace.
a) Where does he get the authority to stick his nose into the private business contracts between employers and employees?
b) Is he going to fight job discrimination by discriminating against whites, males, heterosexuals, and Christians…like all Dim-ocrats usually do?
c) How is he going to improve child care options?  Is he going to spend some of his wife’s money and open up daycare centers around the nation?

Reproductive Choice

Obama has been a consistent champion of reproductive choice and will make preserving a women’s right to choose under Roe v. Wade a priority as president. Obama also supports expanded access to contraception, health information and preventive services to reduce unintended pregnancies.
Please show us how Roe v Wade was in any way a Constitutional decision.  It was nothing more than pure judicial activism.  The Justices made up a mythical Constitutional right of privacy, which isn’t in any copy of the Constitution that we’ve read.  Then they said that the whole abortion matter was a matter of privacy.  Jeffrey Dahmer killed, and ate, in the PRIVACY of his residence, but that didn’t make him any less of a killer.  Also, where was this a federal matter in the first place?

Is HE going to pay for more contraceptives and preventive services, or are the taxpayers?  As per usual, there is no authorization for the federal gummint to pay for that stuff.

Health Care

Obama will tackle diseases and illnesses that disproportionately affect women.

How?  WHERE’S THE BEEF??????  Is he going to use his VAST medical knowledge to do something about them?

Domestic Violence

Obama introduced legislation to combat domestic violence and cosponsored and helped reauthorize the Violence Against Women Act.
This is only a federal matter if the violence extends across state lines or into federal lands.  If it does not, then it is a state matter.

Discrimination at the Job

For every $1.00 earned by a man, the average woman receives only 77 cents. A recent study estimates it will take another 47 years for women to close the wage gap with men at Fortune 500 corporate offices.

When you consider day-for-day experience and seniority on the job, that gap is almost nil.  It is almost always a case of the woman taking time off to have a family.  The biological fact is that the woman carries and delivers the baby.  Is that a bad situation, having to choose between moving up the corporate ladder and having a family?  Yes, it is.  Is it something the federal government has a role to play in?  Absolutely not!

Need for Paid Leave

The 78 percent of employees covered by the Family Medical Leave Act who have needed leave but have not taken it report that it is because they could not afford to take unpaid leave. Furthermore, low-income families are less likely to have the resources or savings to compensate for time off.

Again, that is part of the PRIVATE contracts between employers and employees.  The federal government has no say in the matter, according to the Supreme Law Of The Land (which would be the Constitution, for those of you who believe it is whatever Obamessiah says).

Violence Against Women Continues

One-in-four women will experience domestic violence in her lifetime. Family violence accounted for 11 percent of all violence between 1998 and 2002.

And that is a federal matter exactly how?

Women’s Health

Heart disease is the leading cause of death among women, accounting for nearly 39 percent of all female deaths. Studies show that after a first heart attack, women are less likely than men to receive followup care, and are more likely to have a second heart attack. Women are also more likely than men to report having arthritis, asthma, autoimmune diseases, and depression. Health care disparities among minority and poor women are especially pervasive.

Okay, nice statistics.  What does it have to do with the powers of the federal government?

Fight for Pay Equity

Obama believes the government needs to take steps to better enforce the Equal Pay Act, fight job discrimination, and improve child care options and family medical leave to give women equal footing in the workplace.

See the above comments.

Expand High-Quality Afterschool Opportunities

Obama will double funding for the main federal support for afterschool programs, the 21st Century Learning Centers program, to serve one million more children.
More unConstitutional spending by the socialist.

Expand the Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit

Obama will reform the Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit by making it refundable and allowing lowincome families to receive up to a 50 percent credit for their child care expenses. Coupled with Obama’s “Making Work Pay” tax credit, this proposal will help put more money directly in the pockets of hardworking low and middle-income parents.

Here we go with his “refundable” terminology.  For those who have missed the rest of this series, that term means that it is a credit on taxes, but if the person doesn’t pay taxes to begin with, it is a direct payment to them.  More free cheese for society’s rats.

Paid Sick Days

Obama will require that employers provide seven paid sick days per year to their employees.

Using what Constitutional powers?  Oh, we forgot….he’s still using some Socialist Constitution that isn’t legal in the USA.

Encourage States to Adopt Paid Leave

Obama will initiate a strategy to encourage all 50 states to adopt paid-leave systems. Obama will provide a $1.5 billion fund to help states jump-start paid-leave programs consistent with their local needs.

He has $1.5 billion in his bank account to give away?  He can “encourage” all he wants, but he cannot spend a dime of taxpayer money to do any of that.

Expand Flexible Work Arrangements

Obama will create a program to inform businesses about the benefits of flexible work schedules; help businesses create flexible work opportunities; and increase federal incentives for telecommuting. Obama will also make the federal government a model employer in terms of adopting flexible work schedules.

All of that is okay, with the exception of the federal incentives.

Protecting a Women’s Right to Choose

Obama will make safeguarding women’s rights under Roe v. Wade a priority. He opposes any constitutional amendment to overturn that decision.
No Constitutional Amendment is necessary to overturn it.  Someone just needs to send up a case and have a lawyer who is good enough and strong enough to point out how unConstitutional the Roe v Wade decision is.

Reducing Unintended Pregnancy

Obama will work to reduce unintended pregnancy by guaranteeing equity in contraceptive coverage, providing sex education, and offering rape victims accurate information about emergency contraception.

There already is equity in contraceptive availability.  Every 7-11, Stop-n-Rob, supermarket, CVS, Rite-Aid, etc. has condoms for sale.  Providing sex ed is not the job of the gummint.  Emergency contraception information should come from the ER that a rape victim goes to for treatment, not from the gummint.

Ending Health Care Disparities

Obama will invest in research to examine gender and health disparities. Obama will also establish community outreach programs in underserved areas to help make sure women have health care and maintain healthy lifestyles.

We’ll help you out.  Women and men have always been, and will always be, different.  The rest is just more of his usual.

Ending Violence Against Women

Obama will appoint a special advisor who will report to him regularly on issues related to violence against women. Obama will also pass legislation that provides job security to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.

Where does the Constitution say anything about the feds guaranteeing jobs?

Record of Advocacy

Barack Obama has a long record of standing up for women. In Illinois, he passed the Equal Pay Act to give 330,000 more women protection from pay discrimination and passed another law that ensured victims of domestic violence could seek treatment without losing their jobs.

Fine.  That was the STATE legislature.  The Illinois constitution might allow that legislation, but the US Constitution doesn’t!

In the U.S. Senate, he introduced and cosponsored legislation to reduce unintended teen pregnancy, strengthen families by supporting fathers who are doing the right thing and cracking down on those who are not, guarantee workers paid sick leave, and ensure that women are not receiving less pay than men for comparable work.

Imagine that.  He introduced and cosponsored legislation that is intended to violate the Constitution.  Has he even read the 10th Amendment?

And throughout his career, in both the Illinois Senate and the U.S. Senate, Obama has stood up for a women’s right to choose, consistently earning 100 percent ratings from pro-choice groups.

Doesn’t he mean pro-baby killing groups?

Continuing our examination of the campaign policy document that we pilfered from the Obama campaign (well….downloaded from their website…but they didn’t know what we were gonna do with it!), we come to Part 11 of our series on his “The Blueprint For Change.”  This time, the topic is one that The Swamp’s readers are well versed and highly opinionated on, IMMIGRATION REFORM.  Let’s see how much of an idiot the junior senator from the land of cemetary voters takes us to be.

Comprehensive Reform

Barack Obama has fought for comprehensive immigration reform that secures our border, fixes our broken immigration bureaucracy and puts the 12 million undocumented immigrants on a responsible path to citizenship.

There’s nothing RESPONSIBLE about rewarding people for breaking our immigration laws.

If Congress does not act in the interim, Obama will revive immigration reform in the first year of his presidency.
And the American people will flood the Congressional phone lines, shutting down the system AGAIN!  You just don’t get it, do you?

Undocumented Population is Exploding

The number of undocumented immigrants in the country has increased more than 40 percent since 2000. Every year, more than a half-million people come illegally or illegally overstay their visas.

And yet, we still have not taken border closure and security seriously, because of liberals like yourself, George W Bush, and Juan McCain.  Playing nice-nice with the Mexican government (what there is of it) isn’t going to solve the US’s problem.

Immigration Bureaucracy is Broken

The immigration bureaucracy is broken and overwhelmed, forcing legal immigrants to wait years for applications.

You expect efficiency from a government bureaucracy?  You really are smoking crack.

Immigration Raids are Ineffective

Despite a sevenfold increase in recent years, immigration raids only netted 3,600 arrests in 2006 and have placed all the burdens of a broken system onto immigrant families.

Maybe that’s because the government has hamstrung the people making the raids.  The average Joe on the streets can tell you where the illegals are.  The feds are too worried about a backlash from the businesses that hire the non-drybacks.  Scruem!  The American Tradition Party would put heavy fines and jail time on companies and their people who do hiring if they employ illegals!

Create Secure Borders

Obama wants to preserve the integrity of our borders. He supports additional personnel, infrastructure and technology on the border and at our ports of entry.
Believability factor of ZERO.  When has he spoken out in favor of completely securing the border?  His party is opposed to securing the border, since that would shut off many of their future voters.

Improve Our Immigration System

Obama believes we must fix the dysfunctional immigration bureaucracy and increase the number of legal immigrants to keep families together and meet the demand for jobs that employers cannot fill.

a) We don’t care about keeping illegal families together.  The American Tradition Party supports a new Constitutional amendment to clarify the 14th Amendment’s “anchor baby” clause to include only babies born in the US to parents who are here legally.
b) We can get rid of the illegals here and fill those jobs with the current crop of leeches on welfare and other gummint assistance programs.  Cut off all of that unConstitutional money and they will take those jobs.

Remove Incentives to Enter Illegally

Obama will remove incentives to enter the country illegally by cracking down on employers who hire undocumented immigrants.
That’s a start, but you need to shut off EVERY entitlement that the illegals get now.  No healthcare.  No education.  No in-state college tuition.  No drivers licenses.  Any “sanctuary city” should lose every federal dollar that is currently going to it.  Companies within those cities should immediately lose all federal contracts.  The only federal spending in those areas should be military recruiting offices.  Of course, your party supports all of the entitlements going to illegals, so your words are just so much hot air.

Bring People Out of the Shadows

Obama supports a system that allows undocumented immigrants who are in good standing to pay a fine, learn English, and go to the back of the line for the opportunity to become citizens.
Go to the back of the line in their own countries!

Work with Mexico

Obama believes we need to do more to promote economic development in Mexico to decrease illegal immigration.
He’s as nuts as W!  Mexico has the people and the natural resources to be an economic powerhouse.  They CHOOSE to be a corrupt nation, with drug lords running rampant and controlling large swaths.  They ENCOURAGE illegal immigration for the American dollars it brings in.  Their armed forces assist illegal immigration.  No.  Tell Mexico to fix their own stinking house!

Crack Down on Employers

Obama championed a proposal to create a system so employers can verify that their employees are legally eligible to work in the U.S.
Both sides support that.  That could be done in a bi-partisan vote tomorrow and pass overwhelmingly, if the Dim-ocrat leadership would send it to a vote.  Speak out, Senator.  Call for that vote tomorrow!

Fix the Bureaucracy

Obama joined Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-IL) to introduce the Citizenship Promotion Act to ensure that immigration application fees are both reasonable and fair. Obama also introduced legislation that passed the Senate to improve the speed and accuracy of FBI background checks.
That’s not fixing the bureaucracy.  That’s just basic, simple steps that both sides have always agreed on.

Respect Families

Obama introduced amendments to put greater emphasis on keeping immigrant families together.

And keeping families together is not our concern.  If the family is breaking the law, that’s their problem and they pay the consequences.

Read the Plan

Here comes one of the whoppers!  Our continuing series on Barack Obama’s main campaign policy document, “The Blueprint For Change,” comes to Part 12, his plan to combat poverty.  So far, liberals have spent the past 40-plus years in their War On Poverty, and have spent TRILLIONS of dollars (none of which was authorized by the Constitution), with the only results being the destruction of the family unit among the poorer classes, a permanent underclass, and the entitlement society.  Will Obama put forth anything that will actually “change” this situation?  We highly doubt it.

“I’m in this race for the same reason that I fought for jobs for the jobless and hope for the hopeless on the streets of Chicago; for the same reason I fought for justice and equality as a civil rights lawyer; for the same reason that I fought for Illinois families for over a decade…That’s why I’m running, Democrats – to keep the American Dream alive for those who still hunger for opportunity, who still thirst for equality.”

– Barack Obama, Speech in Des Moines, IA, November 10, 2007

The same reason….for my own personal POWER!  Okay, so the American Dream is handouts from the gummint?

Barack Obama ’s Plan to Combat Poverty

At a Glance

Help More Americans Climb the Job Ladder

Obama will help low-income Americans enter the workplace and move up the career ladder.

Here we go again……WHERE’S THE BEEF?  The way for them to enter the workforce is to eliminate the entitlements that they would lose if they actually got jobs, “change” the culture that tells kids that excellence in school work is “trying to be white” and therefore to be discouraged, change the hip-hop culture of mediocrity, “change” the “no snitchin'” culture, and promote hard work and effort..  How about rebuilding the lower class American families, which have been destroyed by the current liberal war on poverty?

Expand the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC)

Obama will increase benefits and expand the number of individuals eligible for EITC, one of the most successful antipoverty programs in history.

Define “successful.”  If you mean “keeping the poverty rate the same but driving up the size, scope, and power of the federal government,” then it has been successful.  If you mean “getting people out of poverty,” then it is a failure.

Establish Promise Neighborhoods to Combat Chronic Urban Poverty

Obama will create Promise Neighborhoods to provide comprehensive services in impoverished areas in 20 American cities.
Nice words, but they smell of bovine excrement.  Your “comprehensive services” sound like big government nanny-state programs to us.  Where does the Constitution authorize them?  If history tells us anything, the Promise Neighborhoods will “Promise” to keep their residents at the bottom of the cesspool, kinda like the N’awlins Lower 9th Ward.

Support Economic Development in Low-Income Communities

Obama will help local entrepreneurs revitalize inner cities.

Only if he gets the gummint outta the way and lowers taxes.  Okay, so that means he’s not really gonna help entrepreneurs at all.

Increase Affordable Housing

Obama will increase the supply of affordable housing across the U.S.

And just how does he plan to do that?  Is he going to go out and build a bunch of houses?  (Well, he does remind a lot of folks of the worst President ever….Jimmuh Cahtuh.)  News flash: Housing is already quite affordable around the nation.  There’s a housing glut at the moment!  People can’t sell the houses they have on the market, nor can property owners get renters in a timely manner.  That’s what is causing all of the foreclosures and the drop in property values.

Poverty Rising

There are nearly 37 million poor Americans. Most Americans living in poverty work, but still cannot afford to make ends meet.
But they can afford cable TV and cell phones.  Looks like they need to get better jobs or cut expenses.

Minimum Wage is Not Enough

Even when a parent works full-time earning minimum wage and EITC and food stamps are factored into their income, families are still $1,550 below the federal poverty line because of the flat-lined minimum wage.

The minimum wage drives up prices and the cost of living.  It is also unConstitutional.  There is no authorization for the federal government to have anything to do with the private business contracts between employer and employee.  if the employee thinks he/she is worth $10 an hour, but the employer believes the job position is only worth $7 an hour, then it is up to the employee to show that the extra money would be well spent.

Expand Access to Jobs

Help Americans Grab a Hold of and Climb the Job Ladder: Obama will invest $1 billion over five years in transitional jobs and career pathway programs that implement proven methods of helping low-income Americans succeed in the workforce.
Where is that in the Constitution?  If employers need more workers with certain skills, it is up to THEM to train new workers.

Create a Green Jobs Corps:
Obama will create a program to directly engage disadvantaged youth in energy efficiency opportunities to strengthen their communities, while also providing them with practical skills in this important high-growth career field.
Here we go with more liberal code words.  There are no such things as “disadvantaged” youth.  They have all of the education they need readily available to them, if they just put forth the effort.  What in the world does he mean by “energy efficient opportunities to strengthen their communities?”  That sounds like hitting the weight room to us.  Try telling these youth to stay in school, work hard at their studies, lead moral lifestyles, dress like something an employer might want to actually hire, and get off of the government teat!

Improve Transportation Access to Jobs:
As president, Obama will work to ensure that low-income Americans have transportation to their jobs. Obama will double the federal Jobs Access and Reverse Commute program to ensure that additional federal public transportation dollars flow to the highest-need communities and that urban planning initiatives take this aspect of transportation policy into account.
Our crack research team fails to find the passage in the Constitution that says the federal government is responsible for making sure people can get to and from their jobs.  Bicycles are cheap, as is shoe leather.

Reduce Crime Recidivism by Providing Ex-Offender Supports:
Obama will work to ensure that ex-offenders have access to job training, substance abuse and mental health counseling, and employment opportunities.
Where in the world is THAT the job of the federal government?  The way to prevent recidivism is to make prison a place that people don’t want to go to and to lock up criminals for long terms.
Obama will also create a prison-to-work incentive program and reduce barriers to employment.
The incentive is…get a job or starve!  Get rid of the entitlements that keep these human leeches going!  As for barriers to employment, that’s up to employers.  If they are comfortable hiring ex-cons, that’s all good.  If they aren’t, then they don’t need to hire ex-cons.  Like a good liberal, he’s concerned more about law breakers than those who abide by the law.

Make Work Pay for All Americans

Expand the Earned Income Tax Credit: Obama will increase the number of working parents eligible for EITC benefits, increase the benefits available to parents who support their children through child support payments, increase benefits for families with three or more children, and reduce the EITC marriage penalty, which hurts low-income families.

How about ending the marriage penalty that hits those of us who actually pay taxes!  Otherwise, what other benefits are those people getting?

Create a Living Wage:
Obama will raise the minimum wage and index it to inflation to make sure that full-time workers can earn a living wage that allows them to raise their families and pay for basic needs such as food, transportation, and housing.
Has he noticed that the summer employment numbers are down this year?  One of the main reasons is that the minimum wage has gone up, so employers aren’t hiring as many young folks.  Anytime the wages go up, then the cost of everything else rises as well, so this is a false argument in the first place!

Provide Tax Relief:
Obama will provide all low and middle-income workers a $500 Making Work Pay tax credit to offset the payroll tax those workers pay in every paycheck. Obama will also eliminate taxes for seniors making under $50,000 per year.
You mean you support the Bush tax cuts?  Is that tax credit going to be one of those that get sent to the person even if they don’t pay taxes anyway or is it going to show up on their tax bill at the end of the year?  Is it just another unConstitutional gummint handout?

Strengthen Families

Promote Responsible Fatherhood: Obama will sign into law his Responsible Fatherhood and Healthy Families Act to remove some of the government penalties on married families, crack down on men avoiding child support payments, and ensure that payments go to families instead of state bureaucracies.

The only government penalties on married couples is the marriage penalty in the tax code.  The penalties in the entitlement programs would go away if the Constitution was followed by ending those programs in their entirety.  The crack down on men avoiding child support is a state court issue unless there is a crossing of state lines involved.  Where the money goes is a state court issue, not a federal one.

Support Parents with Young Children:
Obama will expand the highly-successful Nurse-Family Partnership to all 570,000 low-income, first-time mothers each year. The Nurse-Family Partnership provides home visits by trained registered nurses to low-income expectant mothers and their families.
How is this a federal program?  Having a kid is a big responsibility.  If the woman isn’t physically, emotionally, mentally, and financially ready to deal with that responsibility, she shouldn’t get pregnant.  Oh, sorry….he’s from the party that opposes moral values and personal responsibility.

Expand Paid Sick Days: Today, three out of four low-wage workers have no paid sick days. Obama supports guaranteeing workers seven paid sick days per year.

Where does he get the authority to tell employers how many sick days their employees get?  That’s the private dealings between the employer and employees.  The Constitution gives the federal government no say in those matters.  PERIOD.

Increase the Supply of Affordable Housing

Create an Affordable Housing Trust Fund: Obama will create an Affordable Housing Trust Fund to develop affordable housing in mixed-income neighborhoods.

Who’s houses is he going to tear down to develop that affordable housing?  Where’s this money going to come from?  We didn’t know his personal bank accounts were that deep, since he’s not allowed to get that money from the taxpayers.

Fully Fund the Community Development Block Grant:
Obama will fully fund the Community Development Block Grant program and engage urban leaders across the country to increase resources to the highest-need Americans.
What kinda unConstitutional fecal matter is this?  By “urban leaders” does he mean leaders pertaining to or of the city, or does he mean black?

Tackle Concentrated Poverty

Establish 20 Promise Neighborhoods: Obama will create 20 Promise Neighborhoods in cities across the nation that have high levels of poverty and crime and low levels of student academic achievement. The Promise Neighborhoods will be modeled after the Harlem Children’s Zone, which provides a full network of services, including early childhood education, youth violence prevention efforts and after-school activities, to an entire neighborhood from birth to college.
Ah….birth to college nanny state.  The socialist dream underway.  Constitution?  We don’t need no stinkin’ Constitution!  How many of these programs have ever done anything but fail?

Ensure Community-Based Investment Resources in Every Urban Community:
Obama will work with community and business leaders to identify and address the unique economic development barriers of every major metropolitan area. Obama will provide additional resources to the federal Community Development Financial Institution Fund, the Small Business Administration and other federal agencies, especially to their local branch offices, to address community needs.
That’s the job of the community leaders, not the federal government.

Invest in Rural Areas:
Obama will invest in rural small businesses and fight to expand high-speed Internet access. He will improve rural schools and attract more doctors to rural areas.
Where is it written that the federal government is to invest in private businesses?  Isn’t the expansion of internet services the job of the internet providers?  Where is it the responsibility of the feds to bring doctors to certain areas and make it economically viable for them?

Tax Relief for Low-Income Working Families

Obama created the Illinois Earned Income Tax Credit for low-income working families in 2000 and successfully sponsored a measure to make the credit permanent in 2003. The law offered about $105 million in tax relief over three years.
That’s nice.  That is STATE government workings, not federal.

In the Illinois State Senate, Obama championed multiple pieces of legislation to help low-income families find adequate affordable housing.

Again, that was when you were dealing with the Illinois Constitution.  The President must abide by the Constitution of the United States.

Does that plan start with the elimination of the Constitution?  All of your plans so far have……
